We’ve been providing software solutions to very large ship owner operators for more than a decade, and we’ve supported safe operations of vessels in every significant body of water on the planet, but that doesn’t mean we are content to rest on our laurels.
One of the things we are very interested in is supporting customers using mobile devices. As part of a larger project to make our fleet management tools available on mobile devices via native apps, we worked with several fleet managers to create a tool that takes the effort out of inspections, meaning that more individual inspections get done more quickly with fewer missed deadlines.
This application, ShipInspect, (as well as being a useful tool in it’s own right) also shows our commitment to ‘intelligent’ mobile working: we only want to push out an application onto a mobile device where the use case absolutely supports it. Inspections is just such an instance: mobile phones are with us everywhere, and having an app that can cache data so you can contemporaneously record results, and has access to camera and voice recorder functionality (so you can evidence findings) is something that has meant we have pre-sold more instances of this app than any other product we have ever launched.
The app also showcases the new look and feel we are bringing to all our mobile apps.
